What is BSD?

What is BSD?
Berkeley Software Distribution (BSD, sometimes called Berkeley Unix) is the Unix derivative distributed by the University of California, Berkeley, starting in the 1970s. The name is also used collectively for the modern descendants of these distributions.

BSD was widely identified with the versions of Unix available for workstation-class systems. This can be attributed to the ease with which it could be licensed and the familiarity it found among the founders of many technology companies during the 1980s. This familarity often came from using similar systems—notably DEC's Ultrix and Sun's SunOS—during their education. While BSD itself was largely superseded by the System V Release 4 and OSF/1 systems in the 1990s (both of which incorporated BSD code), in recent years modified open source versions of the codebase (mostly derived from 4.4BSD-Lite) have seen increasing use and development.

Ubuntu

Ubuntu is a computer operating system based on the Debian GNU/Linux distribution and distributed as free and open source software. It is named after the Southern African philosophy of Ubuntu ("humanity towards others").
Ubuntu is designed primarily for desktop use, although netbook and server editions exist as well.Web statistics suggest that Ubuntu's share of Linux desktop usage is about 50% and indicate upward-trending usage as a web serverUbuntu holds an estimated global usage of more than 12 million desktop users and it is considered by DistroWatch to be the most popular distribution of Linux.
Ubuntu is sponsored by the UK-based company Canonical Ltd., owned by South African entrepreneur Mark Shuttleworth. Canonical generates revenue by selling technical support and services related to Ubuntu, while the operating system itself is entirely free of charge.

Why to be volunteer?

Do you know any one who do some kind of work as a volunteer?
Did you use any OpenSource program before?
Did you read any Free tutorial before?
Did you attend any session or training course for free before?
Did you see any publisher or author make a great book for free?
If those people didn't spend time working as volunteers, how can you will find those things? You will not have Linux or Drupal. You will not find Wikipedia!!
Now, it is your turn to ask yourself:
Did you make any thing OpenSource?
Did you write down your trials to offer help for others?
Did you make any session to transfer the knowledge to others?
If you answer with yes, I'd like to say to you "Many Thanks Sir!"
If you answer with No, I hope that you reconsider your believes and ask yourself, Why I am so selfish, Why I am alive!

I Copied this word s form EGJUG  because i love IT   :)
